sandy875 Store Vintage Waralarm WWII Alarm Clock Black Paper-mache a.imagelink {color:#993300;} a:hover.imagelink {color:#993300;} a:visited.imagelink {color:#662200;} a.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #993300; } a:visited.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #662200; } Description:I have a vintage Waralarm mechanical alarm clock, produced during WWII. The case is black paper-mache, according to the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. This clock does still work, although the minute hand moves, the hour hand does not. The glass on the front is a little dirty, but not cracked. It was made in La Salle, Illinois. The price was set by the "OPA" (Office of Price Administration). It is marked $1.65, exclusive of taxes. It is about 5 inches by 5 ½ inches in size. Please take a look in my E-Bay store (Click here for my store), also check out Penguins Playpen and Scootertrash-Bros. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Thanks for looking and please shop again.History of these Waralarms, courtesy of NAWCC: The "Waralarms" were made in the US during WWII. They were essential to assure that the labor force got to their jobs on time in the shipyards, airplane factories and other war materials factories. Waralarms had to be produced with a minimal amount of brass, and essential war material. Thus no fancy polished fittings and many of the usual brass clock parts were made of steel. The largest producer was Westclocks. They had paper-mache cases although other makers produced Waralarms as well. Payment:I encourage you to give moneyexchange a try. It's a free service similar to PayPal, but it is free.Â
