DUTCH DELFT TRADE BEAD A super old antique trade bead, made by the Dutch. From the 1700s. The Dutch were not as adept at making trade beads as the Venetians, so their glass was a bit softer and hence, didn't last as long. So it's hard to find any of these beads anymore. These were traded to American Indian tribes, as well as to Africans, who used them like currency. This is a medium sized oblong shaped bead. I've taken photos of each side, one side you can clearly see the blue glass feather marbled design. A nice little piece of history. Highly collectible, these beads continue to increase in value with time. For antique bead lovers and collectors. Bead is handmade, measuring about 1/2 inch long, specifically, 13mm long.
