KELLAR MAGIC SHOW POSTER MAGICIAN SELF-DECAPITATIONUp for sale is a new print of an incredible poster for the magician known as Kellar. So popular was Kellar that there is no other writing on the poster, just the stark image of his head floating above his body with the words: His Latest Mystery. This collectible belongs in the collections of occult and magic memorabilia. Heinrich Keller, who was a Mason, enjoyed a reputation as the Dean of American Magicians. He was born in Erie Pennsylvania in 1849. When he blew a hole in the drugstore where he was apprenticed, Kellar ran away from home. An early magic show sealed his fate. He frequently was a business manager for magicians while he learned their techniques. It was obviously successful because he soon had a worldwide reputation. He specialized in levitation tricks. He retired in 1908 and passed his wand (quite literally) to Howard Thurston. Among the many people he influenced was Harry Houdini. Houdini had a last performance with Kellar as a benefit for families of the Antilles. Over 6000 people saw that performance. This print is on a quality 100# high glossy text paper. The poster measures 10.5†(w) X 16.5 (h). It has a small border to allow for framing. This is perfect for a standard 16†x 20†frame, a manageable size for a variety of decorating purposes.
