Up for sale is a print of a 1920’s color poster for Harry Houdini, considered by many to be the greatest magician of all times. If not the greatest magician, Houdini was certainly one of the greatest promoters. This poster is known as the “Master Mystifier†poster. The poster features the head of Houdini above the Sphinx with vapor lines to a coffin below that shows Houdini bound. He is in a coffin with that appears to be headed into an underground burial chamber or perhaps the entrance to an unseen pyramid. The top lines read: “Buried Alive! Egyptian Fakir Outdone.†The bottom copy reads: “Master Mystifier Houdiniâ€. Below those lines is a quote from The Literary Digest: “The Greatest Necromancer of the Age—Perhaps of All Times.†Otis Lithograph of Cleveland did the original lithograph on which this print is based. This is a must have poster for collectors of magic memorabilia and show memorabilia or is a perfect gift for magic lovers of all ages. This print is on a quality 100# high glossy text paper.
