Here’s a great new print of a turn-of-the twentieth century poster for Harry Houdini, considered by many to be the greatest magician of all time. If not the greatest magician, Houdini was certainly one of its greatest promoters. Houdini had returned to the United States in 1905 following a triumphal tour of Europe. On September 2, 3, and 4th, 1909, Houdini appeared at the Lyceum Theatre, 123 Van Houten St., Paterson, New Jersey. The original of this poster was for these performances. The headline reads: “ Do Spirits Return?†The large text in the center reads: “Houdini says NO—And Proves It. 3 Shows in one. Magic-Illusions-Escapes = Fraud. Mediums Exposed.†The information at the bottom gives the dates and location of the performances. The illustration features a large bust portrait of Houdini (left). It also shows him destroying spirits and ghosts as part of his show. Houdini spent much of his time debunking spiritualism and exposing psychic frauds. This is a must have poster for collectors of magic memorabilia; show memorabilia or a perfect gift for magic lovers of all ages. This print is on a high-quality 100# glossy text paper. The actual image measures 10.5†(w) X 16.5†(h). The paper is 11†(w) x 17†(h). Therefore, it has a small border to allow for framing.
