HARRY HOUDINI MAGIC PRISON MOVIE PUBLICITY PHOTO Here is a large new print of a 1919 colorized movie publicity photograph of Harry Houdini, considered by many to be the greatest magician of all times. Houdini was the star of The Grim Game, made with the movie company Famous Players owned by Adolph Zukor. The film featured Houdini as Harvey Hanford, an unjustly man sentenced to prison for a murder he did not commit. The movie plot was little more than a showcase for many of the most famous stunts he performed as a magician. In this photo a nattily-dressed Houdini is shown shackled in a prison cell. The shackles include handcuffs, leg irons and balls of chain. Will he escape? Well, we won’t spoil it for you. The caption at the bottom reads: Stone walls and chains do not make a prison—for Houdini. The production company, Famous Players originally did the colorization of the photo. Paper quality: This new print is on a highest quality 100-pound glossy premium text paper that allows for maximum color brilliance for older images.
